We live in tumultuous times, and according to the national media, significant changes in healthcare are expected in the coming months.
Harrison Parks and Recreation Executive Director Chuck Eddington wants Creekside members who rely on their insurance providers for Creekside membership to know that, if things change for you in 2026, Parks and Recreation staff will be available to help you figure out the least expensive way to continue your membership at Creekside Community Center.
“We currently partner with Silver and Fit, Silver Sneakers, and the Renew Active program members using Creekside. We don’t want anyone who uses Creekside to stay healthy and connected to their community to lose their membership,” Eddington said.
Parks assistant Kim Fulton added, “We really have very low membership rates for our seniors, some as low as $10 a month. Additional discounts are available for verified low-income households, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. Please email me at kfulton@harrisonar.gov, and we’ll be happy to see what we can to help you get or keep a membership at Creekside. Our area seniors love staying active and healthy with the pools, walking track, and fitness classes; we want as many people as possible to come and utilize the center."
Fulton said the aquatic aerobics and "chairobics" classes have become so popular that they are adding additional days and times and are expanding to offer volunteer-led classes as well. "Facebook is the best place to stop in and see what's up," she said. "Our Harrison Parks and Recreation page is where we post all our news and events."
Creekside Community Center is open seven days a week. It offers an aquatic center, courts for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball, as well as a game room, E-Sports, party rooms and meeting rooms, an indoor playground, and an elevated walking track.
