Creekside Community Center is a well-rounded location for all kinds of sporting activities, family games, and swim meets. But this weekend, Saturday, February 7, Creekside will be decked out in pink and have the beautiful scent of more than 60 female small business owners.
Thanks to the vision of Karleigh Akers-Williamson, the “What A Girl Wants” event will feature female business owners and give ladies the opportunity to showcase their inventory, creativity, and fellowship with other business owners and shoppers.
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it would be wise for some boyfriends and husbands to browse the selections too, to find unique and perfect gifts for their favorite ladies (Don't forget your Mom and Mother-in-Law).
”Three years ago, I had a vision to host an event for female small business owners. That first year, we had under 20 vendors. The next year, it grew to under 30 vendors. This year, I’ve changed my focus to center God in this event, and He has blessed us with more than 60 vendors. Even if some ladies have the same products or services, we are there to encourage each other and bring attention to their small businesses,” she said.
”Also, the past two years, we gave the ticket sales to Grandma’s House. This year, proceeds from ticket sales will go to Informed Choices Women’s Center. We are so excited to bless them in this way.”
She also secured sponsors, which will add to the amount that can be donated to Informed Choices. The doors will open at Creekside for the event at 9 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. The first 25 at the door will get a swag bag from the sponsors. Pink Bibles will also be given out to everyone.
”Yes, we are here to support these female vendors, but I also hope to plant a seed of God’s hope and love as I share my testimony and focus on obeying God’s Word.”
