Traffic Light Repair

Traffic Light RepairTraffic Signal Working againA new pole and traffic signal are now operational at the intersection of Hwy. 43 and Cottonwood Road.  The former light and pole were involved in a traffic incident during the early morning hours of April 11, 2026 and were damaged beyond repair.  The intersection temporarily went to an all-way stop for a while until Street Department could secure a “knock-down trailer” with a temporary traffic signal.

The City reached a settlement with the driver’s insurance company for the cost to replace the pole and contracted with TLS Group out of Lowell to procure and install the new pole with signals.  Between longer-than-expected lead times for the new pole and coordinating temporary power outages for work near power lines, it took several months longer than originally expected for TLS Group to install the new pole.
