The Boone County Quorum Court will convene a special meeting on April 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Boone County Office of Emergency Management Building, 400 E. Prospect Ave., Harrison, Arkansas, to address a vacancy in the office of Boone County Judge.
During the meeting, the Quorum Court will consider a Resolution to formally declare a vacancy following the resignation of County Judge Robert Hathaway. The Court will also consider appointing an individual to fill the position for the remainder of the unexpired term, which runs through December 31, 2026.
In accordance with Arkansas law, the Quorum Court is responsible for both declaring the vacancy and appointing a qualified individual to serve in this role.
Individuals interested in being considered for appointment are invited to submit a resume and/or letter of qualifications and interest to the Boone County Judge’s Office, located at 100 N. Main Street, Suite 300, Harrison, AR 72601. The deadline for submissions is 4:30 p.m. on April 1, 2026.
