Mayor Jerry Jackson attended the Task Force Race Relations meeting on Monday, Sept. 21 to thank the group for their hard work in our community. The plaque read, “Presented in recognition of the Harrison Task Force on Race Relations, established in 2002 by Mayor Bob Reynolds, for more than two decades of dedicated service to our community. The Task Force has been a vital part of Harrison’s ongoing effort to change perceptions, build understanding, and affirm a simple but important message: Harrison is a welcoming community where every person is valued, and all are welcome.”

Jackson was also pleased to present Amy Deere with a Certificate of Recognition from Secretary of State Cole Jester, on behalf of the citizens of Harrison, for participating in the Martin Luther King, Jr. events and fostering volunteerism, respect, and reflection.
