Mayor Jerry Jackson attended the City Advertising Tourist Promotion Commission (CATPC)  meeting on Thursday, Sept. 24, and presented Matt Bell with a certificate of appreciation for his service and dedication to Harrison.

The certificate stated, “Thank you for your leadership, partnership, and extraordinary dedication to the City of Harrison and the people of our community. Your efforts as Executive Director of Explore Harrison, through your support of our parks, downtown, Creekside Amp, and tourism,

have helped make Harrison a stronger, more vibrant, and welcoming place. With sincere appreciation for your friendship and commitment, and the difference you make every day.”

Bell was surprised and responded, “I’ve been working with the City for 16 years now, but there has never been a mayor that has pulled our organization into the City like Jerry Jackson has. His two terms in office has helped me build relationships with Chuck at Parks, Luke Feighert, Wade Phillips, and the Police and Fire Chiefs. We’ve never had those relationships before. If we are having a special event, we can make a call to a department head and they get it done. Jerry, you gave me this award, but you’ve been the best Mayor this city has seen in 16 years.”
