Boutique AirlinesBoutique presents to BoardInside the Boutique jet

Boutique Airlines was the second of three aviation companies presenting in person to seek to serve the Boone County Regional Airport for the Essential Air Service (EAS) contract. The Airport Board heard their presentation, and guests were invited to tour the PC-12 interior. As far as Airport Manager Judy McCutcheon knows, Southern will be the last company to make a presentation.

McCutcheon added, “We could have a sleeper bid that doesn’t come to visit first. But I suspect all three will be back in November for a final push before the board makes a decision.”

Bids close on Friday and then the DOT will send out all proposals and give the Airport Board of Directors 30 days to submit the first and second preference.

“The DOT has the final say and will more than likely announce in late December who they chose to serve our community,” McCutcheon said. “We are very grateful for the interest these aviation companies have shown in our airport.”

Southern Airways Express currently has the EAS contract and will make their presentation on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 11:30 a.m.
