Mayor Jackson has recognized individuals and groups for their tremendous contributions to the City during his eight years as mayor. On Thursday night, Oct. 1, he attended a meeting of the Master Gardeners and presented President Cory Hopingardner with special recognition for their participation in making the downtown area a beautiful place for plants and flowers.

Jackson said, “Presented in recognition of the Boone County Master Gardeners for their outstanding volunteer service and commitment to making Harrison a more beautiful and welcoming community. Through your knowledge, hard work, and thousands of hours of service, the dedicated volunteers have made a lasting difference throughout Harrison, especially in our downtown area. The flowers, plantings, hanging baskets, and beautification efforts reflect a true pride in our community, and Harrison is deeply grateful for the expertise and dedication you so generously share.”

This week begins the City-Wide Clean up. A GFL truck will be coming by on the regular trash and recycle day for your additional items. Check the list and only put on the curb approved items. It's best to put them out the night before, because the truck might run as early as 6 a.m. Oct. 5-9.
