LRS has an update to share about solid waste pick up this week:

This is an important message from LRS/GFL, the City’s solid waste service provider.

Due to recent weather, solid waste services were impacted last week. For the week of February 2, LRS/GFL will collect additional waste accumulated from the prior week for affected customers.

To ensure service:

Place all carts and any extra bagged trash or recycling at the curb by 6 a.m. on your scheduled pickup day, or the night before.

Please ensure containers are not blocked by snow.

Extra bags should be placed next to your cart.

Because of the increased volume expected at the curb, collection times may vary, and routes may be adjusted throughout the week. Residents may experience delays or changes from their usual pickup time.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as crews work through the increased volume. (File photo)

City Hall and Creekside Open Tuesday
This is an Important message from LRS- South / GFL Environmental, your solid waste provider.

Due to ongoing hazardous weather conditions—including snow- and ice-covered roads and parking lots, along with temperatures well below freezing — we will not be running routes on Tuesday, January 27, and all facilities will be closed.

We will continue to evaluate road and weather conditions over the next 24–48 hours and will share updates as soon as it is safe to resume service.

Please ensure containers and enclosures are accessible and not blocked by snow or ice.

LRS stated that as the winter storm began, they would assess road conditions on Sunday evening to determine if residential routes would run on Monday. When a decision is made, it will be posted on our social media sites. Thank you for your patience. Citizens are still advised to stay off the roads unless it is an emergency. (File photo)

The Harrison Fire Department responded to a call around midnight of a house fire in the city limits. They battled the flames and stayed on scene until about 4 a.m. Prayers for the displaced family, and grateful there were no injuries to the occupants or rescue personnel.

Thank you, Lee Dunlap and the Harrison Daily Times. We appreciate all the work Explore Harrison, and Recovery Center of the Ozarks did for our community. The decorations were beautiful. And thanks to the Downtown Beautification effort by the City, the downtown lights are still a sight to behold!
