Thank You, Harrison On behalf of my family and myself, I want to thank this incredible community for the outpouring of love and support we’ve received following the passing of my wife, Peggy, on April 9. The cards, kind messages, and thoughtful gestures have especially touched us. They’ve reminded us of the strength and compassion that define Harrison. Some may not have known that Peggy had been privately battling melanoma for the past three years. She wished to keep it mostly within the family; we honored that. Since then, I’ve come to realize how many others in our community are quietly facing cancer themselves. It’s a sobering reminder that there are private struggles behind so many familiar faces we may never see. She was a remarkable woman; this town meant a lot to her as it does to me. Thank you again, Harrison. You’ve shown once more why this is such a special place to call home. Mayor Jerry Jackson

CodeRED Test sent out On Tuesday, at 11:04 a.m., a test from the CodeRED system went out. If you did not receive a notification, please contact 870-204-5688 to be included in the emergency notifications. NOTE: This system is designed for the City of Harrison and Boone County Area. Our system will not notify you if you are in another state and a tornado approaches that location. When the test was sent out, 1,689 numbers were reached. 5,500 numbers were no answers, and 49 numbers were busy. The system left messages on 646 answering machines. If you want alerts, it is imperative that you sign up so all the information is correct. Citizens can sign up to receive emergency alerts in three ways. An email can be sent, a phone call, or a text message. All three can be set to notify you if desired. If you need assistance, call 870-204-5688. Leave your name, address, phone number and preferred method of receiving alerts.

Marsha Carter sent us these photos and a quote: "The Dive-in movie 'Nemo' at Creekside was awesome. It was nice seeing families all there together. We had a great time with our grandchildren, and my heart was happy seeing the other families enjoying the facilities, too." Pictured is Bryan Carter with grandchildren Walker, 2, Easton, 6, and Asher, 4. Thanks for coming to Creekside and letting us know your family had a great time.
