Mayor Jerry Jackson presented the State of the City at the Feb. 27, City Council meeting. Mayor Jackson enjoyed focusing on the projects that lay ahead for the city .

Lots of progress is being made at the new downtown Fire Station at Creekside.

Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce CEO/President Jeff Neilson (left) and Harrison Mayor Jerry Jackson signed the contract approved by the City Council to give the Chamber $50,000 in quarterly payments of $12,500 to provide economic development services for the area.

Downtown Property Owners to meet The Historic Harrison Business Association has scheduled a meeting with all downtown property owners on Monday, March 10, at 6 p.m. in the Community Room at Signature Bank Tower. HHBA President Mike Nabors said, “We would like to meet with property owners to inform them of our intentions to apply with Main Street Arkansas to be a Main Street Community. We are seeking their endorsement as part of the application process. There will be many free benefits and educational opportunities for property and business owners in Main Street Communities. N. Lucille St. between W. Holt Ave. and Alma St. will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 25 through Friday, Feb. 28, from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. each day for a sewer main line replacement. Please be aware of the signage, flaggers, workers, and their equipment as you approach the work area.

LRS will be on their regular schedule this week. They are prepared to pick up two weeks' worth of trash and recycling on the Wednesday and Thursday routes. Thank you, LRS!
