The agenda for the Thursday, Dec. 18, Harrison City Council meeting has been formalized. However, an item entitled "Proposed Grant Writer Service Agreement" has been added to the meeting preview folder, and Council Members will likely be asked to vote to approve adding the items to the agenda before any business is discussed. Part of the Public Works team was installing an 8-inch water line extension on Harness Street to accommodate future growth in that area. The improvements will include the installation of a new fire hydrant. Your tax dollars at work!

In Ward 1, the city crew will be picking up your leaves this week. There will be no leaf pick-up during the Christmas Week. Ward 4 will begin on Dec. 29.

The Water/Sewer Construction Department hosted a Christmas Lunch and invited Mayor Jackson to say a few words. Under the direction of Supervisor Charlie Jones, the staff undertook the majority of the remodel and restoration work needed on the facility. Some old photos have been enlarged and decorate the walls.
A Crouse Construction Crew was taking advantage of the warmer temperatures last week to work on some new curbing at the Harrison Middle School. This part of the project is scheduled for completion very soon.
