On Saturday, December 13, at 11 a.m., Rose Hill Cemetery will host the Wreaths Across America program, where veterans from each branch of the military will be recognized and honored, and wreaths will be placed on their graves.
Rose Hill Cemetery’s dedication to the National Register will immediately follow. Kyle Whiteside will be presented with his Eagle Scout Badge and Certificate of Appreciation for his work on the Rose Hill Cemetery archway.

The Battle of the Badges is set for Saturday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. This fundraiser supports the Police and Fire Foundations. Come out for a good time, and support these two good causes.

Coach recovers well with Creekside
The majority of the community knows Robert Reese by the name of “Coach Bob Reese.” Bob retired from teaching as an elementary PE Coach and Cross Country Coach after 32 years with the Harrison Public Schools. Bob is very thankful for the Creekside indoor walking track.
“I had knee surgery on June 18, 2025. I was not getting around as well as I wanted to and had to have the surgery. So I had a full knee replacement, and I’ve been working for four months to get it back to where it needs to be. One of the best ways to recover is lots of walking.”
Bob said he enjoys walking outside, but the hard surfaces cause his knee pain. “The track at Creekside is perfect because it has a thick rubber surface. I’m very impressed with the whole Creekside facility. It’s open to everyone. And I only have to pay $10 a month. (Several Medicare and insurance plans will supplement membership fees for seniors, plus there are other discounts available.)
“It’s been beneficial to have an indoor facility to walk in all kinds of weather. It’s always clean, well-maintained, and well-staffed. I appreciate the corporate sponsors and local support, which was necessary to provide this facility. It’s great to see the courts full and people using them.”
“I utilized the therapy and the large pool, which were significant assets for learning to walk in the water. Access to these pools also aided in my recovery. I’m also impressed with the access to the pools for people with special needs.”
“I believe I have recovered well and don’t feel like I’d be doing this well without the facilities at Creekside Community and Aquatic Center.”
