Thank you, Friends of the Library, for your donation of 100 books to the Creekside Playroom so that young children can have access to books. Ginger Schoenenberger, Library Director, said Mayor Jackson had asked her about books for the area, and she asked for the assistance of the Friends of the Library. Penny DeJournett and her husband, John, took the task seriously. John built a beautiful bookshelf with rounded corners to be safe for the children. When the ladies walked in, the shelf was a mess, but they were excited because that meant children were looking at the books. They are free to take home if needed and can be returned or kept. The Friends of the Library will restock, and straighten once a month. There are Board Books, Easy Reading and Picture books for young readers. Thank you so much for what you do for our community! Make sure you have signed up for CodeRED Alerts. Storm sirens will also go off, but it is sometimes better to hear a notification in your home. Fire Chief Marc Lowery said, "911 is supposed to set the sirens off Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at noon as a test. But they never "test" them on a bad weather day." If you need assistance with signing up for CodeRED you can call 870-204-5688 and we will help.
