Two streets to go ‘one way’ for Halloween traffic
Homeowners Chris Wade and Casey Johnson approached the city a couple of weeks ago with an idea to make Daly and Hogan Streets in The Estates subdivision one-way on Oct. 31, to make their neighborhood safer.
Mayor Jerry Jackson said, “These streets have been overwhelmed with Halloween traffic for years. This should help the flow and hopefully be safer for everyone. We brought in Police Chief Chris Graddy and Captain Clint Tolliver and decided to give it a try.
Daily and Hogan will be one-way streets. Vehicles can enter the neighborhood from Bunker and exit onto Cottonwood. This pattern will begin at 5 p.m. and end at 9 p.m.
PLEASE GO VERY, VERY SLOW. SMALL CHILDREN WILL BE RUNNING ACROSS THE STREETS.
“This is a great example of what Harrison’s citizens can accomplish by sharing a good idea with city officials,” Jackson said.

At the HHBA (Historic Harrison Business Association) meeting Monday night, Hotel Seville owner Hansen Doolittle and his assistant Maddox showed off the new window, which is in keeping with the hotel's historical status.
