In case you missed this last week: TJMaxx is coming to Harrison!
TJ Maxx is Coming
Big News, Harrison!
Since becoming mayor, one of my top priorities has been to recruit a TJ Maxx for our community, and today, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news.
In 2020, TJ Maxx planned to open in the former JCPenney location at the mall. Unfortunately, the pandemic hit, and like many companies, they put a hold on expansion. Later, that space was leased to Harp's Grocery Store, and plans shifted.
But we never gave up. Over the past few years, we’ve stayed in close contact with TJ Maxx, working to keep Harrison on their radar. And now, I’m proud to announce that they have finalized a lease to move into the former Big Lots location.
That’s right — TJ Maxx is coming to Harrison!
This is a big win for our city. TJ Maxx brings a great shopping experience, and the brand attracts other national retailers — it’s a catalyst for future growth.
On behalf of City Hall — and I know the Chamber of Commerce feels the same — congratulations, Harrison! More to come, but for now, let’s celebrate this major step forward.

Thank you, Tempo Fire and Security, for testing our system annually to ensure City Hall's warning systems are working correctly. Today was the day. Matthew Ritchey and Ronnie Short made a lot of noise, but that's good because the fire alarms are working! Make sure your business or home warning systems are working well.
