Wastewater Systems Manager, Kathryn Catlin, represented the City of Harrison today at the AWWMA (Arkansas Water & Wastewater Managers Association) Spring Workshop & Business Meeting in North Little Rock. The workshop focused on “AI: Ally or Adversary for Utilities,” bringing together industry professionals to discuss how emerging technologies are shaping the future of water and wastewater management.

The City of Harrison is turning 150 years old on May 1. Join us at the Downtown Bandstand for a celebration at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 1. Then purchase tickets for a Harrison150 Gayla on Saturday, June 6, at the Harrison County Club. A few local businesses will be honored for their contribution to the community during the 150 years. The night would never end if every business was mentioned, but get your tickets now and let's Celebrate our Past and Build our Future.

A representative from Claridge in Harrison has asked for our assistance in getting the word out - THEY ARE HIRING. They actually hire for positions in Harrison through a temp agency, HireWorks, based in San Antonio. It is Claridge's busy season now through October. They plan to hire about three temporary positions per week for six weeks. Later this year, they will move some employees to full-time.
Be sure you sign up to donate blood at City Hall on Wednesday, March 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Appointments or walk-ins are welcome. Donors will receive tickets to different Ozark area events.

The TJMaxx construction crew is working in the former Big Lots space and will hopefully open in late spring. When the store opens, they plan to hire between 40 and 50 people, with approximately 12 being upper management. They will host a hiring event when the time gets closer. Thank you, TJMaxx. We can hardly wait!
